BBH New York promotes Aussie expat strategist Julian Cole to comms planning department head

Previously a strategy director, Cole will continue to report to BBH US Chief Creative Officer John Patroulis and BBH New York Chief Strategy Officer Sarah Watson. In his new position, Cole will continue to spearhead BBH New York’s work as the lead creative agency for the Sony PlayStation account, along with Johnny Walker.

During Cole’s two years at BBH New York, he has worked across brands and helped to shape the strategy that has driven campaigns for Axe, Johnnie Walker, Baileys, World Gold Council and BBH Labs.

Says CSO Sarah Watson: “Julian has a unique perspective – he has a background in digital strategy, but spent his first year at BBH working directly as a part of the creative teams. He has a very clear vision of the value comms planning can add to clients’ business by plugging greater numerical discipline directly into the development of creative work.”

A strategy enthusiast, Cole has taught over 1,000 students Digital Strategy on Skillshare (recently publishing some of its most popular advertising slides on ‘What is Digital Strategy?’ that achieved 187,000+ views in the last 6 months and Digital Strategy Toolbox .

Prior to joining BBH New York, Cole worked at The Conscience Organisation in Sydney. Before that he worked at The Population in Sydney, and Naked Communications in Melbourne.
