BMF lead agency pack in finalist stage of March Australian Creative Excellence Showcases
Val Morgan Cinema Network today announced the finalists for the March Australian Creative Excellence Showcase (ACES) with a record number of entries received from across Australia with BMF in front with two campaigns.
Ten campaigns have made the finalist stage from agencies such as BMF, Engine, The Monkeys, McCann Melbourne, DDB, Clemenger BBDO, FSM, BWM and Finch.
The standard of this year’s creative was outstanding with entries from prestigious creative agencies representing some of the biggest brands.
Says Damian Keogh, Val Morgan chief executive: “The entries in this ACES event have been of the highest quality. The support of the creative agencies has been fantastic with a record number of entries. The aim of the ACES is to celebrate and recognise great Australian creative ideas and executions and our finalists certainly reflect that.”
Judges had a tough time narrowing the selection down to the top 10 that had appeared on either cinema or TV in the last 6 months and were locally produced in Australia.
Says Stuart Tucker, Aussie Home Loans: “The standard of ads was very high. There was a good range… some known brands, some small brands and I think what it did show was that you don’t have to have a big budget to make a great ad.”
Says Paul McIntyre, AdNews: “There was a good mix… some good stuff happening out there… ones that caught my attention and I went right oh, as a punter in a cinema or on a TV, I watched that, enjoyed that …. And Well done! An engaging ad will surprise, delight, engage and get a message across… and sometimes some magic happens and we saw a little bit of it today in the judging.”
Says Peter Galmes, Whybin\TBWA: “There were a few ads that really stood out and were doing something different in the category which is really interesting, like entertaining people.”
