Pontifex, formerly a freelance producer, has previously worked on various jobs with The Sweet Shop, including the multi award winning spot ‘The Potato Peelers’ for the Melbourne International Film Festival alongside director Steve Ayson. Pontifex started his career on the agency side, including a stint as a producer for London’s M&C Saatchi before moving back home to continue on with Australian agencies.

Says Wilf Sweetland, managing director at The Sweet Shop: “I am thrilled that Edward has chosen The Sweet Shop for the next stage of his career. His background and reputation in both agencies and production is of the highest level, and is a great asset to the company.”

Says Paul Prince, CEO/founding partner: “Edward is hugely respected by creatives, producers, and directors alike. He is a man who understands The Sweet Shop’s commitment to craft and whose passion for quality will no doubt compliment our client’s growing ambitions.  We are very excited to have Edward join our global management team.”

Says Pontifex: “Having enjoyed working with The Sweet Shop over the last few years as a freelance producer, I jumped at the opportunity when Wilf approached me to join as executive producer. I am really looking forward to working with the team and helping develop their talented list of directors.”

Over the past year The Sweet Shop has continued to add new directors to their roster, both locally and internationally. Pontifex joining The Sweet Shop is another measure the company is taking to manage this expansion and increased demand, continuing to bring the highest quality and service when bringing ideas to life with all of our clients.
