Flying Fish set to co-produce feature film ‘Orphans & Kingdoms’ created by writer/director Paolo Rotondo and producer Fraser Brown

Flying Fish has announced that it will be co-producing Orphans & Kingdoms, feature film from writer/director, Paolo Rotondo (left) and producer, Fraser Brown.

 

Orphans & Kingdoms is a drama that explores the unlikely meeting between a lonely man and three teenage kids. O&K will be the first narrative feature set and shot entirely on Waiheke Island and is scheduled to shoot in June this year.

 

Says James Moore, executive producer at Flying Fish: “We’re excited to be involved in Orphans and Kingdoms. We’ve been doing a lot of work on envisaging what our business looks like over the next 5-10 years and we’re driven by the opportunities out there. Paolo is a fabulous talent and the timing is perfect for him to join the FF team with Orphans & Kingdoms.”

 

Flying Fish, are delighted to be an official co-producer on the project. In the face of a rapidly changing media and advertising environment Flying Fish are evolving into a creative hot house.cNow the company will not only focus on the core business of producing high-end quality TVC’s, but also the creation of innovative content for any screen, including, the silver screen. Brown, has been a big part of that process whilst producing with Flying Fish for the last two years.

 

Rotondo has been a part of the film industry for a long time. His experience ranges from performance, to screen writing through to directing emotive TVCs.

Says Rotondo: “I get an incredible buzz collaborating on bringing ideas to life, it’s a process I love. Working with Flying Fish is a perfect fit and they’ve totally got into the spirit of making an amazing feature film. It feels like a hot house of fresh thinking at Fish.’

 

Both Rotondo and Brown have been working together creatively since 2005 developing feature films, and making award winning short films and TVCs.
