lortsmithQRFB-post1.jpgIn a bid to raise awareness and drum up donations for the Lort Smith Animal Hospital’s dog adoption program, BMF Melbourne has created the QR Dogs Campaign.

Life sized QR code dogs have been posted around the streets and dog parks of Melbourne, encouraging people to find a dog a home with their phones.

Scanning the QR Dog takes people to online video stories of the real life dogs available for adoption and invites the finder to adopt, share or donate.

Launched this morning by Olympic Gold Medallist and Lort Smith Ambassador, Giaan Rooney, QR Dogs will be roaming the streets of Melbourne over the next month.

Says Rooney: “Pets give so much love and companionship yet ask so little in return. Now people have the chance to give something back and literally help thousands of surrendered animals.”

Says David Klein, executive creative director at BMF Melbourne: “The work that Lort Smith does to provide quality veterinary, shelter and re-homing care to abandoned and surrendered animals is awe-inspiring. QR Dogs is a unique mobile application to get dog lovers in Melbourne interested and involved in Lort Smith’s cause.

“On behalf of the Lort Smith Animal Hospital and BMF Melbourne, we’d like to thank the many partners who have made this campaign possible including Frank PR, Adrian Lander Photography, Ambassador Giaan Rooney, Hocking Stuart, Pet Barn, Melbourne Central, The Age and The Dog Lovers Show.”
