Matilda Bay’s population of eight hits billboards across Australia via Clemenger BBDO Melbourne

image002.jpgFrom this week, the population of eight from Australia’s original craft brewer, Matilda Bay will be up on billboards in the big smoke and various suburbs around Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane via Clemenger BBDO Melbourne.

image003.jpgThis will be the first time the core family of eight come together for appearances on billboards, a bit like a family portrait really. Though they won’t quite make it to the big screen, the four advertisements will also run in print titles such as Frankie, Smith image004.jpgJournal,Treadlie, Acclaim, Green and liquor trade titles.

The campaign aims to show the people that Matilda Bay is no one-trick-yak and to spread the word about its core family of craft brews.

Says Scott Vincent, head brewer of Matilda Bay: “We are image005.jpgall very proud of Fat Yak, which is now one of the most popular craft beers in Australia. We want Yak lovers to taste some of the other gems that come out of the Matilda Bay brewery too.

“Our Dogbolter dark lager, Bohemian Pilsner and Munich-style lager, Helga are sort of the unsung heroes in our stables, and we’d love for drinkers to know they are interesting members of our eclectic beer gang.”

Matilda Bay’s population of eight includes Alpha pale ale, Fat Yak, Beez Neez, Redback, Helga, Dogbolter, Bohemian Pilsner and Dirty Granny cider.

Besides the permanent population of eight, Matilda Bay also brews Minimum Chips golden lager and the cloudy ale, Itchy Green Pants (currently only available on tap) as well as a series of seasonal brews available exclusively at home base, the Port Melbourne brewery and bar.

The new campaign will be seen on billboards from 25 March and in print from 28 April.
