Adfest 2013: Grande Awards to Leo Burnett Sydney for Bundaberg Red and Clemenger BBDO Sydney for TEDxSydney ‘Mimeisthai’

McCann, Melbourne won Gold for Metro Trains ‘Dumb Ways to Die’ at the Interactive Lotus.

The ambitious Mimeisthai campaign, which was also awarded a bronze in Best Use of Social Media, saw the agency develop the world’s first spoken-word, real-time trending engine that went on to be described internationally as, “Twitter without the smartphone or laptop.”

Says Paul Nagy, executive creative director at Clemenger BBDO Sydney: “A Grande Lotus is very special indeed. We’ve got such exciting digital thinkers in the agency these days, and the work they’re developing is astonishing. Mimeisthai and the HJs work are just the beginning. We’ve done fantastic things for Skittles and have very cool work in production for Wrigleys and a host of other clients. It really is an exciting time to be in the agency and in the industry.”

The campaign team for the Mimeisthai included Paul Nagy, executive creative director; James Theophane, creative director; Luke Hawkins, art director; and Denise McKeon, head of broadcast production.
