Mercedes-Benz Australia launches social media comp using Pinterest ahead of Fashion Week

MB.jpgHaving returned as title sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia last year, Mercedes-Benz Australia has chosen social media site Pinterest as the ideal platform through which to engage with its fashion fans. This innovative competition, a first on Pinterest for an automotive brand in this country, offers the winner a money can’t buy VIP experience in Sydney.

Hosted at mbstyle.com.au, the competition asks fashionistas to create a ‘Mercedes-Benz Fashion’ board on their personal Pinterest page and share their favourite looks from some of the big-name Australian designers that will be showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.

The winning entry, chosen at random on 8 April, will receive two return flights to Sydney from their nearest capital city plus transfers in a chauffeur-driven Mercedes-Benz. Once in Sydney the winner and guest will enjoy two nights accommodation at the funky QT boutique hotel.

The lucky pair will also receive a makeover courtesy of Maybelline New York and Redken to ensure they look their best before taking up their front-row seats at the Mercedes-Benz Presents Easton Pearson runway show, along with VIP access to the coveted Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge. And as if that wasn’t enough, the winner will also get $1000 to spend with leading Australian designer We Are Handsome.

Says Rebecca Williams, Mercedes-Benz emarketing manager: “We are proud sponsors of fashion globally and Pinterest is the perfect platform as it is so visual, allowing people to capture the glamour and colour of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.

“Australians are savvy when it comes to social media adoption and Pinterest has been no exception. We see this as a natural extension of our online strategy; engaging with users across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and now, Pinterest.”
