The second heats take place tonight to find the last four teams that will go through to finals night on April 18 where they will be fighting it out for big cash prizes and the coveted adland ping-pong champion trophy.

DDB, BMF, Havas Worldwide and Sapient Nitro are the four agencies that smashed their way through to the finals, with Make and Saatchi and Saatchi narrowly missing out.

International umpire Stephen Gillespie, of Table Tennis NSW, was impressed with the competition in the first heats: “The skill level has definitely stepped up a notch since the 2011 tournament. The competitive nature of the industry is only getting stronger.”

Sponsors The Catering Department and 4 Pines Brewing Co can be held responsible for losses due to mouthwatering distraction.

Reigning champions Leo Burnett will be returning tonight with some new additions to the team line up to defend their crown.
