WritersFest.jpgBWM has launched the 2013 campaign for Sydney Writers’ Festival, breaking the mould of a literary festival and presenting Sydneysiders with a bold, visceral and very alive series of events.

By focusing on the exhilarating aspect of live storytelling, the aim is to attract a younger crowd, who collect and share experiences as part of their life stories. This year’s line-up encompasses everything from rappers, to digital strategists, comedians, orators, jazz singers and the finest writers from Australia and around the world.

Says Rob Belgiovane, executive creative director of BWM: “With speakers the calibre of Joe Rospars, Obama’s digital strategist, Kate Tempest the world’s preeminent poet, activist and rapper from the UK and Molly Ringwald, now a renowned jazz singer and author, the Sydney Writers’ Festival has some of the best speakers in the world. It’s this dynamism that we really wanted to communicate, and I believe we have.”

The multi-platform campaign includes TV, cinema, a dedicated program guide in The Sydney Morning Herald, print, posters, Avant card mini-mag, digital, social and live events taking place around the Sydney CBD.

Says Jemma Birrell, artistic director, Sydney Writers’ Festival: “The artwork from BWM has so beautifully captured our brief, enticing audiences with the idea of live stories – focusing on excitement and suggesting the depth and breadth of storytelling. They have highlighted some of the fascinating stories behind our talent and authors by the power of suggestion, creating something exhilarating and extremely inviting.”

The Festival takes place from 20-26 May 2013. Tickets are on sale now.
