The NSW launch event will take place from 6:00pm on Monday 3rd June at DDB Sydney, 44 Mountain Street, Ultimo. Entry is discounted at $20, and annual membership packages are also available for $120, granting members access to four events in 2013 in addition to a range of benefits.

Network 10’s executive general manager, Russel Howcroft, will mediate the discussion, and panellists join from account management, strategy and planning, creative, media and client-side roles to have their say.

Signalling a key driver behind the group’s formation, the issue of reputation will be confronted head on, as a panel of industry leaders answer the question: ‘Are suits nothing more than bag carriers?’

The debate promises to be feisty and provocative, with the subject tilting heads from all corners of the industry in recent press.

Says Naren Sanghrajka, chairman of the Account Management Group’s NSW Committee: “Following significant changes in the advertising and media landscape over recent years, the role of account management has taken on a new identity. The aim of the AMG, and events like this, is to help define what that is by providing a platform and a voice that puts the opinions of suits on the map.”

The AMG has already experienced a welcome reception in Victoria following a successful launch in 2012.

Says Sanghrajka: “This is an important expansion; NSW is home to a huge segment of the nation’s Account Management workforce, and we are excited that we can now offer support to an area of the industry which has so far lacked real representation.”

Interested participants, including anyone who would like to engage with the group as a consultant or event speaker, can contact Gawen Rudder on 02 8297 3807.
