Last week BBDO Worldwide was named Network of the Year at the New York Festivals, with the network’s Australian agencies making a significant contribution to the win.

BBDO Worldwide won 49 medals, 15 of which were awarded to Sydney and Melbourne. After leading Australia with 15 finalists in the last stage of the competition, Clemenger BBDO Sydney won 10 medals and was the most awarded agency in the network.

Says Paul Nagy, executive creative director at Clemenger BBDO Sydney: “This is a fantastic result for BBDO and we’re so proud to have played a significant part in the network’s success. There’s real excitement in the agency and with some flash new creative talent walking in the door there’s a feeling it’s just the tip of the iceberg.”

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne also made a significant contribution, winning 5 awards at the festival and picking up gold for their Carlton Draught ‘Beer Chase’ campaign.

Says Robert Morgan, chairman of the Clemenger Group: “We are extremely proud of our contribution to the reputation of BBDO Worldwide. More importantly, we are proud to be able to produce some of the world’s best creative work.”

The New York Festival is unique in that it is judged by 357 of the most respected and award-winning chief creative officers, executive creative directors and industry professionals from around the globe. The Network of the Year Award is given to the agency network that obtains the highest score for entries in all mediums across all competitions.
