LUKE_HAWKINS-web.jpgClemenger BBDO Sydney has promoted Luke Hawkins to Creative Director and is teaming him with Rebecca Carrasco to provide creative leadership to the agency.

The duo will work together on GE and MLC and will also run their own clients, with Hawkins taking the lead on Wrigley and Velocity.

Since joining Clemenger BBDO Sydney as associate creative director a year ago, Hawkins has developed award winning work for Skittles and TEDx Sydney, building on his reputation for producing bold, innovative work and helping the agency towards one of it’s best award show years to date.

The highly awarded “Mimeisthai” for TEDx Sydney recently picked up four awards at the New York Festivals along with multiple awards at London Internationals, Digital Asia, AWARD, Spikes, One Show Design and Adfest, including the Grande Lotus for Interactive.

Says Paul Nagy, executive creative director at Clemenger BBDO Sydney: “Luke has become one of the foundations of the department. His work is genuinely world class, but more than that, he’s an inspiring, fun bloke who makes everyone around him that little bit better. I’m dying to see what wonderful creatures he and Rebecca will bring into the world. Figuratively speaking of course.”

Says Hawkins: “I can’t wait to get stuck into my new role and help build on the agency’s recent award success. There’s some great work in the pipeline and the opportunity to work with Bec is really exciting.”

Prior to joining Clemenger, Hawkins spent 18 months as creative director of Tongue Sydney where he was instrumental in winning new business, building the creative department and expanding the agencies creative offering.

Before working at Tongue, Hawkins spent eight years at BMF where he worked on a number of campaigns recognised at Cannes, One Show Entertainment, AWARD, ADMA, Echo, Caples and the London Internationals, including ‘6 Beers of Separation’ and ‘Harvested – The Trails’ for Tooheys Extra Dry.
