NERVE_Christian Clark.jpgFirst time feature film director Sebastien Guy will premier his new film Nerve at this year’s Sydney Film Festival. Sebastien along with Luscious International is excited at the traction his first film has garnered.

Says Guy: “As a director you just want to explore interesting themes and stories that people connect with. So we are really pleased that the film is already finding an audience. And for me, it’s been a great opportunity to showcase my directing style in a long-form medium. Its what every TVC director wants. So I feel very lucky to have the support of Luscious who have believed in me from the beginning.”

The psychological drama deeply mines the life of Jakob Evans (Christian Clark), in the wake of an emotional breakdown following his wife’s death in a car accident. Jakob’s loss and pain runs deeper still with his claim to have found her in bed with another man just before her demise. As his heartbreak and frustration escalate Jakob struggles to accept her death and infidelity, finally deciding his only chance at closure is to find his wife’s lover.

NERVE_Gary_Sweet as Ben Livingston.jpgGuy began his career as an actor in Los Angeles while studying film production at the California State University. With French/Australian heritage he was raised in an expatriate lifestyle in the South Asia Pacific region. Following on from a successful acting career in both the US and Australia, he then moved behind the camera. After developing an international reputation as a TVC director, he joined Luscious International, making Sydney his home.

Luscious International executive producer Andrew Morris said Sebastien’s development as a director had been catapulted by the feature experience.

Says Morris: “Sebastien is deft at extracting real and authentic performances from his cast. He’s very intuitive and quick to enable energy and options on set to capture flowing and fresh performances.
