crayon.jpgCrayon has announced the news that accomplished editor Billy Browne has joined its family.

Coming from 12 years experience on feature films as first assistant editor to the renowned Jill Bilcock, Browne has honed his craft on over 16 films including Moulin Rouge, Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Red Dog.

Now based in Melbourne, Browne has moved to commercial editing, cutting for directors such as Paul Goldman, Clayton Jacobson, Ben Lawrence and Ben Saunders. He has quickly built a name for himself characterised by his good humour, array of desktop farmhouse animals, and affinity for cats.

Says Browne: “I like Crayon because it allows me to indulge my editorial talents – the studio is very much centered around highly creative projects. It’s an incredibly well set up space and I am very happy to be here.”

Browne’s latest work for Beyond Blue, ‘I Am Anxiety’ is evocative and provoking. Featuring renowned Aussie actor Ben Mendelsohn in a campaign to promote awareness for anxiety disorders, the temper of the piece is tense and edgy, reflecting the impression of the subject material perfectly. When you discover Browne has suffered from anxiety himself, this edit becomes all the more remarkable and all the more real.

Crayon was founded in 2012 by Tim Kentley, creator of animation house XYZ Studios, alongside rising talent, colourist Daniel Stonehouse.
