London International Awards Design and Package Design jury to be chaired by Alexander Schill

Alex_Schill_gross_smaller image.jpgAlexander Schill, Chief Creative Officer at Serviceplan, Germany will Chair the LIA 2013 Design and Package Design Jury.

In 1994 he started his career at Germany’s former hotshop agency No.1; Springer & Jacoby as a junior copywriter and was asked in 2003 to lead the agency as Chief Creative Officer. In 2006 Schill left Springer & Jacoby to become Global Chief Creative Officer, Member of the Board and Associate Partner at the Serviceplan group. The Serviceplan group (serviceplan, Mediaplus, Plan.Net) is the largest independent agency in Europe with around 1,400 employees. The agency runs 28 offices in nine countries worldwide with clients like BMW, Lufthansa and O2.

On the Design and Package Design Jury are:

Sumiko Matsuda – Designer, Nakatsuka & Partners Inc, Tokyo

Jack Anderson – CEO, Hornall Anderson, Seattle

Peter Knapp – Global Creative Officer, Landor Associates, London

Joanina Pastoll – Creative Director, Cross Colours, Johannesburg

Sarah Rotmann – CEO/Creative Director, MODCo Creative, New York

Barbara Levy, President of LIA, stated “Serviceplan is a multi-award winning independent Agency and Alex is a multi-faceted award winning Creative, as well as, a phenomenal creative leader. Serviceplan’s mission statement reads ‘Serviceplan Design gives brands character – with well thought out corporate designs and matching corporate identity.’ With this mind, LIA is extremely honoured that Alex is lending us his expertise in leading our Design and Package Design Jury.”

LIA will open their Entry System in May with a final deadline at the end of July.

The Awards Judging is from 4th-12th October 2013 in Las Vegas.

Levy continues her innovative leadership of the awards extending the LIA Educational Initiative introduced last year.

In 2012, LIA launched the Junior ‘Creative Conversations’ programme targeted to Young Creative’s from around the globe. As a way to give back to the industry, LIA coordinated a week of Seminars, Conversations, lunches and dinners twith the Juries hat were educational and stimulated discussions around the future of Advertising. The entire initiative, including travel, meals and hotel expenses, was fully funded by LIA.

The 2012 ‘Creative Conversations’ speakers included: Ted Royer, Susan Credle, Israel Diaz, Sonal Dabral, Tony Calcao, Jeremy Craigen, Faris Yakob, Neil French, Doerte Spengler-Ahrens, Bob Garfield, Jonathon Ker, Ralph van Dijk, Scott Elias and Phil Growick.
