Filled with useful tools and information for beginners right up to more experienced cooks, Ask the Butcher provides users with a friendly, trustworthy and knowledgeable butcher in their pocket.

mzl.cpueskgc.320x480-75.jpgmzl.shukyppi.320x480-75.jpgThe Ask the Butcher App takes beginners from the butcher’s cabinet to the kitchen: it will help users select a cut, know what to look for when shopping, how to prepare their meat and cook it perfectly all with the reassurance of having an experienced butcher by their side. Then, relax while the cooking timer keeps people’s roast, BBQ or braise on track.

The Ask the Butcher App brings together generations of butchers’ knowledge from the Puharich family. The Puharich family have been supplying premium meat to Australia’s finest restaurants since 1996 as well as serving up specialty meat at the prestigious Victor Churchill butchery in Sydney. Anthony Puharich is also the host of LifeStyle FOOD’s latest TV series, Ask the Butcher.

Anthony Puharich says giving people easy access to the knowledge of a local butcher is increasingly important.

Says Puharich: “I’ve been a butcher for half of my life and I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned about meat and meat preparation. The Ask the Butcher App is such a great, easy-to-use tool that will help take the guess work out of buying and cooking fantastic meat and make the experience all the more enjoyable. It’s not always about buying the most expensive cut, but knowing how to get the best results out of a range of cuts.”

Key features of the Ask the Butcher App include:

·       Detailed information straight from the butcher’s block explaining each cut of beef, veal, pork, lamb and chicken in Suggest a Cut or The Meat Rack.

·       Tips and questions to ask butchers about each cut.

·       A cooking timer based on meat and weight selected.

·       The opportunity to ask the butcher a question via email.
