After a year on the Nike Digital Sport team, R/GA New York has promoted Aussie expat Ben Williams to creative director.

In his new role, Williams will be responsible for leading the creative efforts for Nike+ FuelBand. Prior to R/GA, Ben spent 3 years at AKQA, New York, heading up creative on projects for Sprite and Smirnoff, culminating in a Calvin Klein digital AOR win.

Before his move to the United States, Williams enjoyed stints at several agencies in Melbourne, eventually setting up his own successful studio where he worked on projects for clients including Toyota, Quiksilver, Subaru and Ford.

As creative director, he will work closely with fellow Aussie expat EVP, Global Chief Creative Officer, Nick Law and the Nike Digital Sport team to help evolve the next generation of Nike+ FuelBand.

With 16-plus year’s industry experience, Williams says he is excited for the new challenges ahead at R/GA and working with Nike.
