Shards of Glitter will open on Thursday 23rd May and run till Sunday 26th May. Miss Phoenix Knights live performance is one night only, Thursday 23rd May (from 6pm). Head On Photo Festival will be held at China Heights, Level 3, 16-28 Foster Street, Surry Hills.

Says Chrissie Hall, director of XRay Doll: “We knew that we needed to create something that was extraordinary for the Head On Festival. We wanted to showcase our teams talents for viewing beauty from ugliness, of creating glitter from the dark.”

Shards of Glitter, created and presented by XRay Doll directors Wassim Bazzi and Hall, and starring Miss Phoenix Knight has already caused a stir.

Says Hall: “We are thrilled that people have been telling us they can’t wait to see our exhibition. We are so proud of the images that we have created, and working with Miss Phoenix Knight, Australia’s most influential adult performer, was a dream.  She is a beautiful woman – yet is a risk taker. She appreciated what we were trying to achieve and managed to incorporate her own unique version of dangerous innocence.”

The exhibition takes the idea of sex and the mainstream and turns them inside out, with a pop surrealist style. Visual influences include Toshio Saeki, David LaChapelle and Stanly Kubrick which all shine through as a combination of Fantasy and Reality.

Shards of Glitter will comprise of a mixture of printed works and video elements set to the backdrop of a glitch yet delicately carnal soundscape. It promises to transport people into a dark world of glitter and surrealism.

Says Bazzi: “We created an experience for the viewer. We have presented a debased carnival or temptation with a fusion of amazing color scapes, fantastical worlds and confronting locations, all tied uniquely together with the shocking visuals of Miss Knight.”

Shards of Glitter will include a jaw dropping live interactive performance by the show’s star that is not for the faint hearted.
