Ad Stars 2013 Festival entries sees double-digit growth for the fourth consecutive year

AD Stars logo.jpgThe Ad Stars Festival has received a record total of 12,079 entries from 59 countries for their annual awards show to be held in Busan, South Korea in August this year. This is a 16% growth compared to last year.

This year, a total of 24 sectors were open for entry to Ad Stars – ‘Print’ received the most number of entries at 2,584, followed by ‘Outdoor’ and ‘TV’ at 1,456 and 1,173 respectively.

In terms of region, 2,868 (23.7%) were domestic, South Korean entries and 9,211 (76.3%) were overseas entries were submitted – including 1,855 from China (158% growth compared to last year). In addition, the USA submitted 23% more on last year. Singapore and Thailand were also major contributing countries.

Such tremendous interest to AD STARS was largely affected by the group of judges consisting of around 160 top figures in the advertising industry, including Jacques Séguéla, the vice-president of Havas Group.

Ad Stars is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Busan Metropolitan City, and will be held in places in the Haeundae area including BEXCO and Novotel Ambassador Busan for three days from 22-24th August.
