Brisbannes 2013 Logo.jpgFollowing the success of last year’s event, The Communications Council and Brisbane’s member ad agencies will once again host the annual Brisbannes Cannes Contender Night on Thursday, June 13th at the Palace Barracks Cinema in Petrie Terrace. All tickets have already been snapped up.

Brisbannes_066Ÿ.jpgIn a twist on typical Cannes previews and reviews, this night is all about the clients.

Says Brendan Greaney (creative director, GPYR) and Jonathan Drapes (creative director, Junior), Brisbannes co-founders: “The aim of the event is to create a forum for Brisbane’s marketing community to discuss creativity Brisbannes12.jpgand its link to effectiveness. To hear clients and their agencies walking out at the end of the night talking about world-class ideas can only be good for the industry.”

The inaugural Brisbannes attracted over 200 of Brisbane’s top marketers who enjoyed a reel of the year’s stand-out work from around the globe. This year, guests will also hear from Jeremy Rudge, creative excellence lead at Coca-Cola South Pacific who will share some success secrets from last year’s landmark ‘Share a Coke’ campaign.

Says Russ Vine, MD of local agency Junior and current chair of The Communications Council’s Queensland Committee: “The Brisbannes initiative is a great way for The Comms Council to provide genuine value for both member agencies and the clients of those agencies. We’re delighted to be backing the event for a second year.”

The organisers gratefully acknowledge the event’s major sponsors – Colmar Brunton, MCN, News Limited and Nova 106.9. Brisbannes is supported by GPY&R, Junior, Cartel Film Production, Clegg Media, Corbis Images, Cutting Edge, Printcraft and Unio.
