Melbourne creatives Nathan Davoli and James Nguyen win Chip Shop Award in ‘The Mother of All Recommendations’ self promotion category

OBM Advertising creative team Nathan Davoli and James Nguyen have won a Chip Award for ‘Best Self Promotion’ for their clever entry at the London Chip Shop Awards.
When Davoli and Nguyen were jobless, broke and sick of working for free they came up with a witty way to land their first creative advertising job. The team procured the number of the digital creative director and sent him the mother of all recommendations.

Aaaah….fantastic. Finally, a self promo piece that actually met the target…getting the team a job with the agency they aimed it at.

How many self promo entries do the Chip Shop Awards get? 3? 5? The idea strikes me as a little high school-ish, that Come Home Droga promo stunt was leaps and bounds better.
