youth_adFeature_bodyImages.jpgThe Federal Minister for Youth, the Hon Peter Garrett has extended the deadline for nominations to the Positive Body Image Awards by one week with the new closing date now the 28th June. The AANA encourages advertisers to make a difference and help ease the pressures on young people today.

Says Alina Bain, director of operations and regulatory affairs at the AANA: “The AANA supports and endorses the federal government’s second annual Australian Positive Body Image Awards and we urge our members to follow suit by promoting positive body image through advertising and marketing campaigns particularly those aimed at young people.”

Bain is representing advertisers on the awards judging panel along with other members who represent a cross section of the community, industry and young people.

Says Bain: “These Awards are important because they highlight and reward initiatives targeted at children and young people which promote positive body image and campaigns which focus on a fun and healthy lifestyle rather than a particular body type.”

Recipients of the Awards will be able to use the Body Image Award Winner symbol, which will help consumers recognise and support those who embrace positive body image.

Nominations close 28 June 2013.
