Will O’Rourke wins at NSW Architecture Awards for Sydney Story Factory’s Martian Embassy

SSF_1.jpgThe winners of the 2013 NSW Architecture Awards were announced last night in Sydney.

Production company Will O’Rourke won the NSW Premier’s Prize for the Sydney Story Factory’s Martian Embassy. The prize is awarded from a shortlist of projects which are of benefit to the people of NSW.

SSF_2.jpgThe permanent space which opened last year on the main street in Redfern was designed as The Martian Embassy by the Will O’Rourke team including architects from LAVA (Laboratory of Visionary Architecture) and creative directors from The Glue SSF_3.jpgSociety.

 

The Sydney Story Factory is a not-for-profit creative writing centre for young people, offering free help from volunteer tutors to write all kinds of stories. The centre opened one year ago and since then it has hosted over a thousand young people who have taken part in classes.

 

Will O’Rourke is a production company to help make new types of projects including content, special builds, events and other brand funded alternatives. Their past work includes NAB Break Up and NRMA Car Creation.
