For near on 150 years, fresh kegs of Carlton Draught have been rolling out the brewery gates to pubs and their thirsty patrons across Australia. This month there’s a new keg on the block, one that drinkers will be able to pick up with one hand tied behind their back, as CUB launches the Carlton Draught Keg Can.

As the name suggests, the Keg Can, featuring a bold silver background and embossing, is all about bringing the iconic look and feel of the Carlton Draught keg to every drinking occasion no matter where you are.

The Keg Can, designed by Cowan, will replace all existing Carlton Draught cans but punters will have an easy time finding it at their local bottle shop thanks to some eye-catching merchandising kits. In Carlton Draught’s home state of Victoria, an outdoor advertising campaign, via Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, will also hit the streets.

Marketing manager for Carlton Draught, Alastair McCausland said the Keg Can was all about championing the Aussie pub experience: “You see a keg and instantly think of having a beer at the pub. We all know the pub is the best place to enjoy a brewery fresh Carlton Draught with your mates, but for those times when grabbing a stool at the bar just isn’t possible, holding a Keg Can at home will absolutely be the next best thing. Plus, they’re really shiny.”

The Carlton Draught Keg Can will roll out nationally from this month.
