Offering Australia’s creatives, planners and account managers valuable insights and inspiration from around the world, the show reel has been curated around six key themes which arose throughout the festival, including:

    • Transmedia storytelling;

    • Social purpose;

    • Adaptability through data innovation;

    • Behavioural change;

    • Identifying a well-defined problem, and;

    • Effectiveness.

Says Russ Mitchinson, APG chairman and judge in the 2013 Cannes Lions Effectiveness category: “Each year, the Cannes Lions awards unveil evidence of some of the most unexpected thinking and effective campaign strategies from around the world, and I know from my experience on the judging panel that from those entries we can learn so much about where our industry is heading and what we’re competing with on a global stage.

“This is not only a chance to celebrate an unprecedented year of success for Australian entries, but this showcase will allow members to also see what is working overseas. And who better to lead the show than Terry Savage, whose relationship with the festival has spanned more than two decades. This is a unique opportunity, not to be missed.”

Says Michael McEwan, chairman of the AMG in Melbourne: “For the first time, the Account Management Group will join the Account Planning Group to co-host a screening of the 2013 winning work from Cannes. Each and every year, we marvel at the ideas showcased at Cannes. Australia certainly has a proud history of success at Cannes. Account Management has a key role to play in ensuring that success. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the world’s best and embrace the power of ideas.”

This year’s event will be run in partnership with News Australia Sales. Entrance is free for members of the APG, AWARD and AMG, with tickets available for $45 for all non-members.
