Toby1.jpgSoliloquy, the latest photographic series from Toby Burrows, will launch at Black Eye Gallery, 3/138 Darlinghurst Road tonight 6-8pm (Thursday 4th July).

Inspired by Pre-Raphaelite painting and Shakespeare’s Ophelia, Soliloquy is a contemporary photographic interpretation of a classical theme.

Soliloquy is an organic creation of in-camera images using traditional studio techniques, theatrical sets and underwater choreography. All of the images are captured from a vertical viewpoint, looking down upon the waters surface. The photographs are non-reliant on image manipulation for atmospheric effect.

Toby2.jpgThe exhibition includes a looped video component, shot by Burrows on-set. The video is accompanied by a musical soundscape written by composer-sound designer M.Easter Jr.

The Soliloquy exhibition will run from Thursday 4th July until early August.
