Woolworths responds to public demand and agrees to stock Thankyou’s range of products
Social enterprise Thankyou.co today announced that its range of life-changing products will soon arrive on the shelves of Woolworths, Australia’s largest supermarket chain.
A high profile social media campaign rallied Australian customers to voice their support for Thankyou’s range of water, food and body care products ahead of their meeting with Woolworths.
The meeting between Woolworths and Thankyou took place yesterday afternoon, with the retail giant remarkably delivering its response just three hours later.
Thankyou co-founder and MD Daniel Flynn said he was excited that Woolworths had agreed to come on board.
Says Flynn: “The meeting with Woolworths went really well. We definitely weren’t expecting an answer so soon. This whole week has been a little surreal, and Woolworths telling us they’re in just tops it all off. It’s unbelievable.
“Woolworths has agreed to range some of our food products as well as our bottled water. We are also looking at future opportunities to stock our body care range.
“By bringing the Thankyou range to the 19.5 million customers that pass through Woolies every week, we will be able to make a massive difference for people throughout Asia and Africa, who are in desperate need of safe drinking water, food and hygiene education.
“We’re absolutely thrilled and, to be honest, a little amazed at much support we have received from the Australian public in recent weeks.
“We’re feeling really humbled that so many people have got behind us over the past couple of weeks and have really championed the brand for us. They really seem to understand and appreciate the difference our products are making to the lives of people less fortunate than themselves. It’s a testament to the giving and caring nature of Australians.”
Woolworths agrees that the Thankyou brand deserves an opportunity to bring its great story to its Australian customers, and looks forward to the products arriving in store within the next six weeks.
This announcement comes two days after Coles supermarkets communicated a similar decision to its social media fan base.
In the two weeks before Thankyou met with both supermarkets, over 15 million people were reached through social and traditional media. Thousands of people posted messages of support on Facebook, with many going a step further to record creative videos to attract greater attention.
Along the way, the campaign received support from a host of celebrities, including Jules Lund, Chrissie Swan, Andrew Gaze, Rebecca Morse, Peter Helliar, Nicole Livingstone, Tim Costello, Dean Geyer and Dylan Lewis.

The earth doesn’t Thankyou for making even more plastic water bottles!!!
Coles and WW dominance of this space leaves a god-awful taste in one’s mouth. I don’t wanna have to petition for anything to be on shelf. Stock it or don’t, just don’t involve me, coz I couldn’t give a rat’s petutie. I don’t work in the stock room at WW or Coles, why must I be immersed in this ‘loading dock’ marketing? It stinks. The two ‘giants’ (intellectual midgets) are turning supermarket shopping into a tawdry ‘promotional’ based experience instead of the mighty equivalent of hunter/gathering.
