Collider has announced the addition of award-winning director Ben Briand (left) to its ranks.

Hailing from a background in fine arts, Briand’s visual style is both contemporary and cinematic, complimenting Collider’s long-standing aesthetic.

Briand brings with him a catalogue of work in film, installation, documentary, music video, photographic and commercial film projects.

Says Rachael Ford-Davies, Collider executive producer: “Ben consistently produces beautiful and honest work and is someone whom we have always felt belonged at Collider. His work shares many of the same visual ideals and we are all looking forward to working with him.”

Amongst his awards is a Silver SHOTS Young Director Award from Cannes, and the major prize for the MTV Optus ONE80 Project. His short film Apricot garnered a huge online cult following upon release and was eventually voted Best Narrative film on Vimeo by a community of over 3 million users.

Says Briand: “Joining Collider at this time feels really right. I’ve long admired the company’s ability to work across multi-disciplinary and traditional formats. It’s great to join a crew of such like minded people.”
