CureKids launches clips and a web spot for TV3’s Comedy for Cure Kids via Film Construction
Executive producer for Comedy for Cure Kids Brooke Howard-Smith approached Film Construction to provide eight short films to air during TV3’s Comedy for Cure Kids on Friday 23rd August.
While the broadcast spots only aired during Comedy for CureKids a web film has been released for placement in CureKids social media outlets.
Says Howard-Smith: “We knew the type of quality Film Construction produce, and they didn’t let us down, pulling in a fantastic team and making it happen,” said Howard-Smith.
The films are fronted by CureKids ambassador Jackson who lives with a brain tumour. Playing the role of CEO, Jackson shows us around the workings of the charity – volunteers fielding donation calls, a giant money collection room and research facilities.
Directed by Michael Humphrey, the films are interspersed with interviews of CureKids researchers, CureKids ambassadors living with illness and the odd celebrity appearance. They explore the achievements of CureKids and how the donations go towards finding cures for many illnesses that effect New Zealand kids.
The set was designed and built by Oscar winning production designer Grant Major and was made up of over 900 cardboard boxes, 100 metres of brown paper, over 100 cardboard tubes, 800 egg cartons and seven pieces of cardboard fake fruit.
