DavisAfrica.jpgElla Baché has lured ex-DDI Adworks founder Faie Davis out of Africa for a creative role which will see her return to create the new Ella Baché campaigns.

The author and photographer’s latest project, has seen Davis in Namibia, West Africa with a member of the Himba Tribe, the subject of a comprehensive photographic account of their way of life, The Himba of Namibia, which Davis has interrupted to return to Ella Baché.

ELLA_BACHE_skin_solutions_shoot_v01_logo2.jpegJohn Hallas sole owner of the highly reputable, diagnostic skincare house, Ella Baché has successfully recruited ex-creative director and agency owner Davis, to revamp the image of the brand with a series of campaigns due to launch in September.

Davis was responsible for Ella Baché’s advertising throughout the nineties and early ELLA_BACHE_skin_solutions_shoot_v016.jpg2000’s with breakthrough work which saw the brand rise to prominence under the umbrella positioning of Skin Fitness. The work for Ella Baché helped reshape consumer’s attitudes to salon based skincare and her work pioneered the need for using sunscreen with the legendary Protect Your Largest Organ, billboard campaign. Featuring 6 members of the Sydney Swans ELLA_BACHE_occassions_shoot_v0140.jpegin the nude, the creative execution dramatized the then little known fact, that the skin is the largest organ of the body.

Other controversial ads pioneered the use of self-tanning lotions with the promise of, No More White Australians!

Classic nudes and lyrical black and white photography became a hall-mark for the Brand which Davis also put on the big screen and on television. She was also responsible for opening up the Brand to embrace the gay market putting Baché ahead in this consumer category.

Always at the forefront of product innovation, Ella Baché had a history of supporting cutting edge, creative communication, for which Davis and her team became well known. Getting her back became a priority for John and his daughter, CEO Pippa Hallas, who view the current ad climate as… “predictable and passionless”.

The new campaigns centre on Ella Baché’s unique points of difference; the role of their highly trained, beauty therapists who provide individual diagnostic skincare and the allure of vibrant, healthy skin. The comprehensive portfolio of imagery created and produced by Davis was shot by Sydney based English photographer, Jez Smith and will see a return to Baché’s classic black and white roots.
