Titled ‘The MacCallum‘, the psycho-thriller is set in New York City where Taffs and his family lived in the early noughties.

Says Taffs: “‘The MacCallum‘ is ‘Mad Men‘ meets ‘The Shining‘ with a ‘Fight Club‘ twist. And parts of it are scarier than some of the briefs I’ve been getting from botoxed 12 year-old account managers recently.”

The book took ten years to write. One of the chapters, Pound of Flesh, won a PEN International Award as a short story. ‘The MacCallum‘ is currently going through the Quercus editorial process and should appear in a few months’ time.

Says Rana Dasgupta, winner of the Commonwealth Writers Prize for Fiction: “The MacCallum by Phil Taffs is a chilling, captivating journey and I am left completely dazed by the end of it.”
