Josephine-1-1.jpgIn addition to the recent hiring of top colourist Peter Ritchie, Blockhead has announced the hiring of Josephine Mackenzie (left) in the role of executive producer.

Mackenzie brings a wealth of leadership and experience to Blockheads existing team. In recent years Mackenzie has been executive producer at The Editors in Sydney where she was responsible for managing and growing the business.

Previously Mackenzie worked at The Mill, London before relocating to Sydney where she worked at a number of design, production, and visual effects houses.

Says MacKenzie: “I’m thrilled to be joining Blockhead. It’s a fantastic brand built by a highly skilled and creative team, which I am very proud to be a part of.”

Says Stefan Coory and Nigel Mortimer, directors of the company: “We are very protective of the Blockhead brand and our talented staff. We are a real family. Josephine is an amazing person with the ability to build lasting relationships with anyone she meets. She is highly skilled as an EP and manager, and we are really excited to have her on board to help guide us through the next few years and beyond.

“New Zealand is our home market, but we are lucky enough to do a lot of overseas work too.  For Australian companies shooting in NZ with local agencies, or ones abroad. With Jo’s contacts we may be fortunate enough to see more of our Aussie friends.

“Blockhead now handle ALL of your project needs. We’re loving the energy in the here with lots creative friends from NZ and Overseas in the building. Thanks guys for all your support.”
