AAMI.jpgPhoto-sharing company Polite in Public this week launched its staff-based augmented reality app, Pixta.

The mobile platform is operated by roaming promotional staff, letting clients’ add branded graphic elements to photos instantly while fans share them live to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Says Joshua Phillips, Pixta co-creator: “The idea was to provide a platform so our clients could engage their fans on-the-go. We thought it might be fun to augment the reality of people wherever they are – you could be at a football game tackling the full back or you might have your head on Shrieks body at the movies. Our lives are becoming such a social media game it seemed only natural to give our clients another tool to help their fans play it out.”

Users can also add filters instantly, have their photos uploaded direct to online competitions and on-site aggregators.
