Poster.jpgCake Wines is launching its annual Archi-bottle Prize, a search for the next collaborating artist who’s work will appear on Cake Wines 2013 Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc set to be released into stores in November.

The Archi-bottle has become one of the most talked about contemporary art prizes in the country with 2012 winner, Ears, featured on the Cake McLaren Vale Shiraz.

Dubbed “Australia’s second most prestigious art prize”, the Archi-bottle is a great way to give artists from all over the country a chance to be featured on the wine.

Says Cake Team: “There are so many talented people artists out there but often it’s hard to break-through the clutter…the Archi-bottle is a great platform to catapult great work into broader culture.”

Progressing on from 2012, this year the brand would like to see artists reflect some of the characteristics of the wine in the art, a light to medium bodied, approachable white with hints of passion-fruit and tropical notes. Artists can enter a bespoke piece or something in their existing body of work.

To enter, participants just need to download the info pack which includes the design template from Cake Wines Facebook page or cakewines.com and start creating. Entries close 04.10.13 with the finalists exhibition featuring 30 of the best held on 18.10.13 at the Cake Wines HQ in Redfern where the winner will be announced. Each of the finalist’s art will be for sale on the night with all proceeds going back to the artists. The winner will receive a $2000 cash prize, and 5 cases of wine.

Says a spokesperson from the brand: “We’ve been very fortunate to have worked with some incredibly gifted artists so far who have produced some beautiful work for Cake, the winner of the Archi-bottle will join an elite group.”
