MatEditor.jpgThe Butchery has announced editor Mat Evans has joined its roster.

After a few years working in London, and a couple spent at edit house Guillotine in Sydney, Evans has been building a very solid base of skills. He’s been cutting for local and overseas directors on commercials ranging from Budweiser to Huggies.

Invaluable experience working on projects such as Jane Campion’s TV series “Top of the Lake” and John Curran’s feature “Tracks” (both as assembly editor) have given him a strong grounding in drama.

Most recently Evans cut Mia Wasikowska’s segment for the Tim Winton anthology “The Turning”, and a feature length BBC documentary on the creative process of Campion.

An unflappable guy who’s very humble, and grounded. Evans has a love for music and when not behind the tools can be found at live music venues across town. He has a passion for the craft of film no matter what the duration; with an increasingly strong body of work that encompasses music video, short film, feature film projects, and commercial work.
