mac2.jpgAustralia’s leading business-only telecommunications and hosting provider, Macquarie Telecom, has this week unveiled its new marketing direction, the brainchild of its recently appointed agency – Bang.

Bang was tasked with increasing the telco’s profile and visibility in the sector, kicking off with the first in a series of campaigns – a digitally-led execution that is supported by print and direct marketing.

Competing against the major carriers such as Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone, Macquarie Telecom is a challenger in the business telco services sector, but very much a leader in innovation and customer service – due to its nimble size and customer-centric approach.

Martin Mason, managing director of Bang, says that the creative direction was developed to bring out its ‘challenger mentality’

Says Mason: “It’s great to work with a client who is as passionate about fresh and thought-provoking ideas as we are, and we feel the new campaign reflects this. We’re excited about the launch of this new campaign and we’re looking forward to continuing on this new chapter together.”

Macquarie Telecom’s newly appointed CMO, Ashif Dhanani, was impressed with Bang’s creative response to what was a demanding brief.

Says Dhanani: “Macquarie Telecom’s greatest challenge is awareness. Our offer across all facets of our business is either superior or on par with the bigger players, yet we struggle with people not knowing who we are.

“We sought an agency that could drive attention-grabbing marketing activities to gain greater visibility. Bang is the ideal partner to assist us in achieving our goals – with the energy and enthusiasm we needed – and we’re looking forward to a long relationship with them.”

Bang’s appointment was part of a larger agency refresh by Macquarie Telecom which saw The Origin Agency appointed as its new PR partner and its social, search, and media agencies streamlined.
