Software company Whispir undergoes major brand overhaul ahead of Asia push via Holt

Holt_Whispir_BizCards1.jpgInnovative Melbourne based communications software company Whispir, has undertaken a major brand overhaul as part of a consolidation their local success and a major international expansion. The new brand and identity has been created by visual communication studio, Holt.
 
Whispir, who has signed blue-chip domestic clients including Telstra and Qantas, creates platforms that allow organisations to rapidly reach and communicate with customers, employees and the community via SMS, voice, web, email, mobile data and social media networks. Following a solidification of the business locally, Whispir briefed Holt to help prepare the company for a major push into Asia, with an intelligent, world-class identity that could compete on the world stage.
Holt_Whispir_BizCards2.jpgIn response, Sydney studio Holt has created a typographic mark that succinctly represents Whispir's brand statement 'create the conversation'.
 
The identity derives from the concept of two 'voices', each visualised individually as a letter 'V'. When the two voices come together in conversation, the letterforms overlap to create a 'W' and form the logo.
 
Holt_Whispir_BrandBook1.jpgAs the key foundation of the Whispir brand guidelines, Holt created a bespoke colour wheel and sophisticated on-screen mixing system, for creating custom brand colours. Inspired by op art and the work of painter Bridget Riley, the system integrates the 16-degree angled lines derived from the core identity as a branding device, and generates a unique colour palette for Holt_Whispir_BrandBook2.jpgWhispir to apply across brand and marketing collateral.
 
Whispir managing director, Jeromy Wells, said the brand created by Holt successfully met the challenging brief.

Says Wells: "The idea very simply communicates what is at the core of the Whispir business, which can be difficult to express. The concept was so succinct that we now use this idea to Holt_Whispir_PPT1.jpgdescribe our offer to clients and it has truly become the basis for all of our communications."
 
Romilly Blackburn, Whispir's chief operations officer, describes the brand as clever and elegant.

Says Blackburn: "Holt has created a brand and identity the works for us on every level. As architects in a previous life, our Holt_Whispir_PPT2.jpgdesign sensibilities are incredibly honed. The brand we have now is successful in meeting both our commercial needs and our aesthetic ones."
 
Christopher Holt, creative director of Holt, enjoyed the rigor of working with a client who understood and demanded a high level of craft.

The Whispir design has elan and energy. The colours leap off the page and screen-they're both classic and very cool.
