Spikes Asia: Whybin\TBWA, Auckland takes out Media Grand Prix for Tourism New Zealand; OZ agencies McCann and Leo Burnett score Gold

MIDDLE-EARTH-PASSPORT.jpgWhybin\TBWA, Auckland snared the Media Grand Prix at tonight’s Spikes Awards in Singapore for its Tourism New Zealand ‘Middle Earth Passport Stamp’ campaign.

There were only eight Gold Spikes awarded, two going to Australia and two to New Zealand. McCann Melbourne scored Gold for Metro Trains ‘Dumb Ways to Die’, while Leo Burnett, Sydney won Gold for Coca-Cola ‘Small World Machines’. Colenso BBDO, Auckland scored Gold for Amnesty International ‘Trial by Timeline’ and Open Communications, Auckland won Gold for Unitec ‘Turning Auckland into an experiential ad’.
