andre_thumbnail_905.jpgZSPACE has worked closely with Wine Australia and PR company Liquid Ideas to create a series of four finely crafted films and to design and consult on print and exhibition collateral for Australia’s first global wine forum Savour Australia 2013, the four day event which took place in Adelaide.

Savour Australia 2013 brought together winemakers, distributors and international wine experts to discover the deeper story behind Australian food and wine.

mark_thumbnail_905.jpgIt was a dream job for ZSPACE who were given the freedom to create a refined look and feel across all creative layers of Savour Australia 2013 to ensure the event had a strong and cohesive design aesthetic.

James Gosper, general manager of market development for Wine Australia had a very clear matt_thumbnail_905.jpgvision for Savour Australia 2013.

Says Gosper: “ZSPACE had a great understanding of the brief and developed a creative strategy that flowed across the Savour experience. The scope of the project took shape over four months and ZSPACE’s flexibility and enthusiasm never wavered. The work ZSPACE did Savour_print_top_905.jpgexceeded all our expectations.”

Stuart Gregor, Liquid Ideas founder and creative director was charged with the highly logistic task of bringing the Savour Australia 2013 concept to life.

Says Gregor: “We brought on ZSPACE because of their track record in delivering Savour_Print_4_image_905.jpghigh-end creative across film, photography, print and exhibition. They immediately became part of our team and worked closely with PR/comms and event organisers in Sydney and on the ground in Adelaide. ZSPACE are highly creative and great collaborators and that’s exactly what we needed.”

The films and still Savour_print_bottom_905.jpgphotography directed by ZSPACE’s creative director Gavain Browne have both Wine Australia and Tourism Australia’s brand values at heart. Browne’s vision was unwavering from the very first proposal.

Says Browne: “James and Stuart really responded to the visual sensibility Savour_Exhibition_bottom_905.jpgthat we proposed in our initial treatment. With unwavering trust, they gave us the opportunity to craft a large body of work that spanned film, photography, exhibition and print. The job was an absolute pleasure – who wouldn’t enjoy travelling across three states with a talented crew, taking photos and talking to Savour_Exhibition_4_image_905.jpgsome of this countries most exciting food and wine talent.”

Producer Angela Kargilis realised that the films and creative needed to do more than simply talk about food and wine.

Says Kargilis: “These films are as much about Australian attitudes, culture and landscapes as they are about food and wine. A genuine voice presented with beautiful textures and a subtle colour palette challenge the misconceptions about Australia as a food destination and bring a depth and sophistication to the food and wine story. We wanted the films to help define flavours and personality.”

Each of the four films feature one of four high profile chefs who were chosen to represent the diversity and quality of Australian food and wine for Savour Australia 2013. The films were shot in each chef’s own unique slice of Australia and explore the chef’s personal food journey and close relationships with producers, suppliers and winemakers.

The featured chefs are:

Matt Stone, Silo by Joust (Melbourne)

Mark Jensen, Red Lantern (Sydney)

Ollie Gould, Stokehouse (Melbourne)

Andre Ursini, Andre’s Cucina (Adelaide)
