Allianz home and car insurance launches new campaign via agency MercerBell, Sydney

allianz.jpgAn authentic Australian flavour has been injected into the latest commercials for Allianz home and car insurance via agency MercerBell and Jungle Boys director Abe Forsythe, who has brought together a cast of outstanding TV and stage talent.

Actors Jeremy Sims, Helen Dallimore and Jessica Donoghue, along with legendary ‘Mad Max’ stuntman Grant Page as the garbo, give performances in the two spots, which shows viewers that Allianz helps its customers’ lives keep going when the unexpected happens.

Says David Bell, ECD at MercerBell: “Abe was able to attract a cast of Aussie talent usually seen on TV shows rather than commercials. He has given these spots a unique Aussie flavour, which was exactly what we wanted to reflect in demonstrating that Allianz continues to help more than two million Australians.”

Says director Abe Forsythe said: “Knowing what a difference it makes to have things take place for real, I had a strong desire to place the actors in real life situations. So we really burnt down a house and staged a multi-car pile up. It was fantastic to have the freedom from MercerBell and Allianz to set up an environment that really encouraged the actors to do their best.”

This campaign, ‘When things don’t go to plan’, is a continuation of the insurer’s Ahh-llianz theme. Both spots communicate the same proposition – to ensure life goes on for Allianz customers but in two different ways. Customers are given the option of a rental car if their vehicle is damaged or temporary accommodation if their home is too damaged to live in.

Says Dominic Brandon, group manager marketing and brand at Allianz: “We know our customers lead busy lives and the last thing they need is one more thing to deal with – at Allianz, our service promise is that we will smooth over the cracks and make it easier for our customers to keep going when the unexpected happens.”

‘Chef’ aired from Sunday night and ‘Garbage Truck’ will follow shortly. The campaign will include outdoor, radio and online ads, as well as a YouTube pre-roll execution.
