feds.jpgSydney-based content creators The Feds has recently created “Soundtrack of the World”, which has been selected as one of 30 international cross media projects to participate in Power to the Pixel and is one of eight finalists in the ARTE International Prize for the Pixel Pitch.

Soundtrack of the World is an innovative work of art that tells the live story of the earth through demography data, music and visual design. The project, helmed by The Feds, is a collaboration between director Josh Logue, band Empire of the Sun, digital agency visualjazzisobar, Illustrious Music, SJB architects and Screen NSW.

It is a world first in fusing LIVE, real-time demographic data and synthesizing music stems to create an ever-changing, continuous living soundtrack. Soundtrack of the World features the music of international stars Empire of the Sun.

A total of 12 data feeds will be selected to represent the major global statistics of the world spanning environment, welfare, population and social demographics. Accompanying the soundtrack is a visual representation (designed by Josh Logue) of each data combination. Organic shapes grow and pulse as the data constantly changes.

Says Lizzy Nash, executive producer, The Feds: “Soundtrack of the World is both a truly groundbreaking art installation and dynamic shareable online experience. Other projects (with some similarity) have synthesized data with music to form a singular finished piece of music however our point of difference is we are working with live demographic data and the soundtrack is therefore living.”

The Feds with Martyn Ware (Illustrious Music) will be pitching to a jury of international commissioning executive financiers and experts on October 16th 2013 in London.
