cricket1.jpgFresh off the back of some major client wins with Cricket Australia and Telstra’s AFL apps, leading Australian app developer Outware Mobile, has smashed its own predictions for growth over the last 12 months. The app developer has gone from 27 staff this time last year to more than 60 full time employees, with an additional 30 jobs expected by this time next year.

Says Eytan Lenko, Outware mobile director: “Today we estimate one in every two Australians has an Outware app running on their smartphone – a pretty phenomenal achievement considering the saturation of apps in the market.

“12 months ago, we predicted we’d have at least 50 staff by the end of 2014, so we’re thrilled to have surpassed that already.”

The company also achieved 300 percent growth last financial year and has just been named number two in Deloitte’s Fast 50 list for 2013 and number three in CRN’s Fast 50.

Lenko, who co-founded and co-directs the company along with Danny Gorog and Gideon Kowadlo, said the growing demand for quality, high-end mobile apps is what’s fuelling Outware’s significant growth.

Says Lenko: “We had to set ourselves apart from the growing number of tech start-ups who were delivering ‘quick fix’ app solutions. We pride ourselves on working closely with large companies to deliver something that is not only bespoke, but a truly innovative product that we can continue developing as the company’s business needs change.”

The win to develop the Cricket Australia Live app lands Outware Mobile squarely on the pitch with Australia’s leading software companies. It will deliver live streaming action to a smartphone or tablet and provides the latest news, videos, scores, stats and exclusive behind the scenes content to cricket fans.

Outware has also announced a new contract with Telstra to develop the AFL’s Club apps for 2014. This project will see Outware create a total 36 apps – an individual iPhone and Android app for each AFL club. This is on top of a renewed contract to design and develop Telstra’s flagship AFL Live app for the 2014 season.

Cricket Australia and Telstra join the likes of ANZ, NIB and the State Governments of Victoria, NSW and Queensland on Outware’s list of clients.
