pop-up.jpgEtsy.com, the world’s handmade marketplace has launched their first gallery style pop-up in Sydney’s CBD from November 27, 2013 at a location secured by Popup Brands.

Popup Brands is the online marketplace for listing and booking short-term commercial space by the hour, day, week or month. The Sydney start-up has already attracted worldwide attention and innovative clients.

Says Marianella Watman (near left, with Pete Watman, co-founder and CD), founder of Popup Brands: “November and December are the hottest months in the retail calendar and there aren’t many prime Sydney CBD locations but with a bit of serious space-hunting we found a great space that met Etsy’s brief and budget.”

Says Jason Chuck, Etsy’s country manager: “Pop-ups give consumers a unique experience to touch and hold goods that they’d typically only see online. There are many benefits of pop-ups, and an increasing number of businesses today are jumping on board to try their hand at opening a temporary retail establishment.”

Says Watman: “Quite a few online brands are using pop-ups to get closer to their customers. A little face-to-face can make a powerful change from face-to-screen.

“Etsy’s Castlereagh Street front store will give them huge exposure to crowds of Christmas shoppers hungry for more creative and unique gift ideas.”

Popup Brands new enterprise grade website for shopping centres allows brands to easily find and book popup retail spaces at major retail destinations including Wollongong Central, Rouse Hill Town Centre and Charlestown Square directly from leasing managers.
