Saatchi & Saatchi Health, Sydney most awarded Aussie agency at last night’s The Global Awards; McCann Health takes out Network of the Year

Saatchi & Saatchi Health, Sydney was the most awarded Aussie agency at The Global Awards, presented in both New York and Sydney last night.

The agency won two Globals and the audience voted ‘Best of show’ for its Travel Vaccination Awareness ‘Critter’ campaign.

When the Global Awards shortlist was released this year Saatchi & Saatchi Health Sydney was number three in the list of top performing agencies in the world with 10 entries shortlisted, after Langland in the UK with 32 entries shortlisted and Cementbloc in the US with 11 entries shortlisted.

June Laffey, McCann Health.jpgAustralia was ranked third in the world this year with seven Globals, behind the UK (with 12) and USA (with 10).

The Global Awards recognized Australian agencies with 7 Global Awards and 35 Finalist Certificates. Apart from the two Globals Saatchi & Saatchi Health Sydney also earned 8 Finalist Certificates. McCann Critter toothbrush.jpgHealth was recognized with a Global Award for “Foosball” for client Remicade. In addition, McCann Health also took home 6 Finalist Certificates. Ward6 was in the spotlight receiving a Global Award for ‘Fish’, ‘Egg’, ‘Broccoli’ for PediaSure. The agency also earned 6 Finalist Certificates.  Orchard was honored with a Global Award for “Genotropin Packaging” for Genotropin Pfizer.  Orchard also garnered 3 Finalist Certificates. UrsaClemenger earned a Global Award for “Love over Hate” for client The Wayside Chapel and also recognized with 4 Finalist Certificates. Marmalade Melbourne received a  Global Award for “I Am Anxiety” for beyondblue.

 

Critter cocktail.jpgThe following Australian agencies honored with Finalist Certificates: Insight Australia 3 Finalist Certificates; H&T Sydney and H&T Melbourne along with Affinity; GHG Australia; and DDB Remedy each received a Finalist Certificate.

The Global Awards is an international award show run by The New York Festivals. Now in its 19th year, it recognises excellence in healthcare communications. The winner of each category is awarded a Global Award. There are no silver or bronze awards. There is also a Grand Global awarded for best of show.

For the second year in a row, McCann Health earned the title of Healthcare Agency Network of the Year, taking home 3 Global Awards and 23 Finalist Certificates. The McCann Health offices honored include: McCann Health Australia; McCann Health China; McCann Health Japan; McCann Health Singapore; McCann Worldgroup Thailand; McCann Health United Kingdom; and McCann Torre Lazur USA. Jeremy Perrott, Global Creative Director accepted the award on behalf of the network.

IGraham Long, Wayside Chapel.jpgn addition to the Global Awards, Bravo! also awarded both Client of the Year to Wayside Chapel, Graham Long CEO & Pastor, nominated by UrsaClemenger, and Highly Commended, which was presented to Zoetis Sheep team, Greg Johnson, nominated by H&T Sydney.

The Global Awards ceremony in Sydney was held at The Blue Beat, Double Bay. The awards ceremony was hosted by The Global Awards and Bravo! – a group of Australian healthcare professionals, with representation from healthcare agencies and the Communications Council of Australia.

The Global Awards ceremony in New York City was held at the Helen Mills Event Space & Theatre at 137 West 26th Street, in Manhattan. 

This year’s Global Awards juries recognized winners from 21 different countries with 2 Grand Global Awards, 36 Global Awards and 152 Finalists. 

 

Phil Brown, Creative Director, Bill & Phil kicked off the 2013 Global Awards Bravo! ceremony followed by presenter June Laffey, Executive Creative Director, McCann Health, Sydney and Bravo Committee Head.
