Unitec takes personalised content to a new level with the launch of U Mag via OPEN + Bauer Media

UMAG.jpgUnitec has achieved a New Zealand first through a unique content curation partnership with Bauer Media and OPEN.

The initiative curates Bauer’s media content from across the world and uses it as a source of inspiration for Kiwis, helping define what success means to them and coming to life in magazine and digital formats.

To create ‘U Mag‘, users are asked about their goals, interests and any potential study pursuits. This information, along with the image they upload, is then used to create a bespoke magazine tailored specifically to the individual.

Says Alistair Kirk, director of customer journey for Unitec: “We wanted to create something that could help not just our students, but other Kiwis on their path to success.

“Success is something that we strive for and see emerging from our students and staff across our campuses every day, but often people struggle to find the pathway to get there. We wanted to help these people move forward with that journey by visualising themselves in a position of success.”

The magazine contains articles specific to whatever the reader wants to achieve over the next five years such as buying a house, living a healthy balanced lifestyle, landing their dream job, and heading off on their OE.

U Mag is now available at www.umag.ac.nz and just takes a few minutes to complete. Once uploaded users can create their own personal magazine and have it sent to the address they provide.

This is a component of the wider My Success Campaign for Unitec which strives to highlight the link between Unitec and success with an advertising campaign across TV, cinema, online, radio and digital channels. The campaign also includes a microsite www.mysuccess.ac.nz which asks people to upload their idea of success for the chance to win a success pack worth $10,000 to help them on their way.
