Sutton takes over the reigns from Gerard Barron who announced his resignation as CEO last month. Barron will remain a member of the board of directors as well as continuing to support the business on development opportunities.

Having previously served as a director of Adstream Australia, Sutton joined the business full-time in July as the global head of operations and technology. He has been a vital member of the executive team and has played a pivotal role in developing Adstream’s new integrated delivery and asset management platform, Adbank.

Sutton’s promotion to CEO is part of a natural progression. His longstanding relationship with Adstream means he will hit the ground running, ensuring a sense of continuity for employees and clients alike. Prior to his career at Adstream Sutton was head of operations for Sensis where he was responsible for bringing the company into the digital age.

Says Sutton: “Adstream has always been a company that I admired, having watched its dramatic growth. It is extremely exciting to be leading the business as it continues to deliver new and innovative solutions to brands and agencies globally.”

Says Barron who started the company in Australia over a decade ago: “When Gerry initially joined the business I always envisioned that he could succeed me as CEO and as such it gives me great pride to handing over to someone who has been part of the Adstream story for the last 10 years. Now seemed like the right time to concentrate on some of my other business interests but I look forward to continuing to support Gerry and the business over the coming years as it continues to expand internationally with new innovative products and services.”
