Merv Hughes for the Ultimate One Dayerss.jpgCarlton Mid, in its first season as official sponsor of the Australian One Day International series will be setting up outdoor live sites in Albury, Coffs Harbour and Glenelg which will include a big screen showing the ODIs live.

The Ultimate One Dayer Live Sites presented by Carlton Mid and supported by Cricket Australia and OPSM will be in action in Albury on 12 January, Coffs Harbour on 17 January and Glenelg on 26 January showing the Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide ODIs respectively.

Cricket fans will be able to enjoy a beer in the Carlton Mid Beer Garden, have a hit with their local cricket clubs in the Cricket Australia Family Zone and roll their arm over for a shot at winning up to $2,500 with fast bowling legend, Merv Hughes (left) at the Carlton Mid Stumps Challenge.

Says Hughes, who will be at every site as the official Carlton Mid ambassador: “To all my regional friends – bring down a chair, set up a picnic rug and join me to watch the cricket and soak up the atmosphere at the Ultimate One Dayer Live Sites.

“I’ll be down there, mo and all, looking for some challengers to throw the stumps down! Bragging rights and a bit of cash are to be won too.”

With Carlton Mid sponsoring the ODIs for the first time, general manager of marketing, CUB, Andrew Meldrum says he is excited for the chance to make Australian cricket even better and more enjoyable to watch.

Says Meldrum: “You don’t have to be at the SCG, MCG or the Adelaide Oval to feel the atmosphere of watching the cricket live. We’d love anyone in the Albury, Coffs Harbour and Glenelg area to come down, say g’day to Merv, have a go at the Carlton Mid Stumps Challenge and most importantly – watch the Aussies thump the Poms.”

Carlton and United Breweries biggest-selling mid strength beer is proud to be in its first year of a multi-year deal with Australian ODI cricket.
