David Ormston.jpgCumminsRoss South Australia has appointed David Ormston as creative director of the rapidly growing agency.

On a growth path, the agency, led by Sean Cummins and Bronwen Gwynn-Jones, is adding quickly to its team, with further senior appointments expected in the new year.

Ormston brings extraordinary experience and talent to the agency. During his 12 years at kwp! Advertising, he worked on leading accounts including RAA, Ultratune, SATC and Coopers. In fact, he’s written some of the campaigns the state is best known for, including the ‘George and Trev’ series of ads for RAA Insurance, perhaps the most enduring, successful and well-known advertising campaign in South Australia.

Ormstrong worked with Scott Hicks and cinematographer Bob Richardson on the ‘Cellar Door’ ad he wrote for the SATC. And he wrote the highly awarded ‘Whistler’ commercial for Ultra Tune.

Says Cummins: “Talented writers are rare in Australia, let alone the smaller market of South Australia, so to have David join us is fantastic. He has been the “voice” of Coopers for many years and his work is intelligent, textured and witty. He is a great addition to our team.”

Says Ormston: “I am excited to be part of the dynamic CumminsRoss team that has already established its credentials at a global level and is now ready to make its mark in Adelaide. Our team here is a great blend of experience and enthusiasm. I look forward to working with them in contributing bold, innovative ideas that will set our clients apart.

“Being an Adelaide boy, I understand the culture here. It’s a city where business is forged through relationships. At CumminsRoss we understand this and know that the best results are achieved when we work with our clients, not for them.”

CumminsRoss South Australia will celebrate two years in the Adelaide marketplace in February.

Says Bronwen Gwynn-Jones, MD: “There is no holding us back now, we’re forged and ready for some major announcements in the new year, with several new clients in the wings. We’re building our team in readiness for a huge 2014.”
