FedUni’s ‘got your back’ in latest campaign targeting Victorian year 12s via Cubed

FedUni.jpgFederation University Australia, created by the joining of the University of Ballarat and Monash University’s Gippsland Campus, has joined forces with Cubed Communications to create an integrated multimedia campaign.

In it, the university tells students that when it comes to making big decisions about changing preferences and future study, FedUni really ‘has their backs’.

FedPress.jpgThe campaign lets year 12 students know that they can get help to make their course preference choices at Info Day on Wednesday 18 December.

Says Phillip Crone, manager of marketing and communications at FedUni: “Results time can be confusing for students. If they’re thinking of changing their preferences and not sure what to do, coming along to our Info Day is a great way to get practical advice on what their options are and an understanding of what’s out there.”

Says Bruce Williams, creative director at Cubed Communications: “We focused on the insight that, for a year 12, choosing what to study is a ‘leap of faith’ – and that leap is easier knowing that someone will catch you.”

This insight led to the campaign’s key theme: ‘We’ve got your back’. This idea is represented

across TVC, print and online by a student leaping into the unknown. She is caught by the friendly hands of FedUni staff and peers and ‘crowd surfed’ to her destination, showing the supportive environment of the uni.

Says Mike Chuter, founding partner at Cubed: “The key message is really that the support students get at FedUni can take them a long way. We feel it fits well with what the university stands for and its points of difference: great teaching and great support.”

FedUni has a five-star rating for teaching quality for five years running and has the highest

graduates in full-time employment across all of the Victorian universities.

Info Day is on 18 December at both the Mt Helen and Gippsland Campuses from 11am to 3pm.

The campaign has launched and will run till mid-January.
